Sara Pizzatti

Fashion Designer - Talent in Residence

Sara is born in Alzano Lombardo (BG) in 1993. After the scientific college, her strong passion for fashion and aptitude for drawing encouraged her in enrolling in the BSc in Fashion Design at Politecnico di Milano. She then decided to continue her academic path into the MSc in Design for the Fashion System, where she’s specializing in accessory field. Sara is currently developing in Polifactory her thesis focused on comfort shoes.

Freesock.

The purpose of this project is to create a comfortable shoe for everyday life; inspired by the comfort and lightness of the sock Sara asked herself: “Why not literally have a sock attached to the sole?”
The shoe born from this thought is “Freesock” and is equipped with an elastic upper, adaptable to the shape of the foot; it also protects the most sensitive points thanks to different textures placed in specific areas. The main part of the sock will be completely detachable from the sole in order to allow easy and frequent washings, and it can also be replaced with other fashionable models to have an always different shoe whenever you want. The 3D printed sole is ergonomic and helps the wearer during the walk thanks to its rocker-like shape which pushes the foot forward, encouraging the user to take another step. To give greater support and stability to the ankle arch, the closure is similar to an orthopedic ankle bandage. The latter is also completely removable and thanks to some velcro parts it can be adapted to each foot.
