We look forward to seeing you on 17 February 2026 at 6 p.m. at Polifactory for the third meeting of “Future Food Habits”, the third edition of the Open Polifactory cultural program, entitled ‘Vertical Farming. Fostering the Next Urban Food Production ”.

The event explores how soilless agriculture and digital technologies are redefining food production paradigms in urban contexts, opening up new perspectives for more sustainable, resilient and circular systems.

It will be an opportunity to meet some of the leading figures in food innovation in Italy. Among them is Thomas Marino, co-founder of TheCircle, a centre of excellence that has perfected the aquaponics model, developing symbiotic systems with zero impact between agriculture and fish farming.

Lorenzo Silvestri and Andrea Somenzi, research fellows at the Circular Food System Lab, will also be speaking, presenting the experimental aeroponic and hydroponic module currently in operation at Polifactory.

The debate will be enriched by contributions from Stefano Maffei, Director of the Circular Food System Lab, and Andrea Bezzecchi, founder of Acetaia San Giacomo and lecturer on the Master in Design for Food.

The meeting will conclude with an open discussion session with the audience.

Registration on Eventbrite is required.
