Polifactory @ European Maker Faire Rome 2015

A soli 6 sei mesi dalla sua inaugurazione Polifactory ha messo in mostra le sue prime attività all’edizione 2015 della European Maker Faire a Roma (dal 16 al 18 Ottobre) l’edizione annuale europea della prestigiosa rassegna dedicata al making, all’autoproduzione e all’innovazione indipendente. Polifactory è arrivata a questo suo primo appuntamento portando i primi esempi delle sue attività.

Sul fronte della pre-incubazione dei talenti è stata presentata la prima tesi di laurea materializzata all’interno del makerspace. Margarita Medvedeva ha sviluppato una serie di protezioni morbide personalizzate per capi di abbigliamento sportivo, interamente realizzate in stampa 3D testando una molteplicità di materiali su una stampante Dremel Idea Builder

Sul versante delle attività sperimentali sono stati presentati i primi risultati dell’hackathon Interactive furniture organizzato a settembre 2015 e legato al progetto Design From Ideas To Market, un progetto finanziato da Regione Lombardia e Unioncamere che ha visto la partecipazione di due imprese – Manerba Spa, LuxSolar – e il consorzio Mobilitaly.

Il terzo ed ultimo risultato presentato è stato il report Makers’ Inquiry Italia, realizzato dal Dipartimento di Design in collaborazione con Fondazione Make In Italy – CDB ed Associazione Make in Italy, pubblicato a Marzo 2015.

Just six months after its inauguration, Polifactory puts on show its first activities at the 2015 edition of European Maker Faire in Rome (October 16th to 18th), the annual European edition of the prestigious exhibition dedicated to making, self-production and independent innovation. Polifactory has come to this first appointment bringing the very first demonstrators of its activities.

Talking about pre-incubation of talents, we’ll show the first MSc thesis developed in our makerspace. Margarita Medvedeva has designed and produced a series of custom soft caps for sport appare fully 3D printing, developed through testing a variety of different flexible materials using a Dremel Idea Builder 3D printer.

On the side of the experimental activities, we will exhibit the first results of the hackathon Interactive furniture, held in September 2015 and connected to the Design From Ideas To Market project, a series of activities funded by Regione Lombardia and Unioncamere with the participation of two enterprises – Manerba Spa, LuxSolar – and the Mobilitaly consortium.

The third work on show will be the Makers’ Inquiry report, developed by the Design Department in collaboration with Make in Italy Foundation – CDB and Make in Italy Association.
