Lorenzo Silvestri

Product Designer born in 1998, he began his academic career with a Master’s Degree in Integrated Product Design at the Politecnico di Milano, followed by an experience abroad at the Elisava University in Barcelona. He obtained his Master’s Degree in 2023 with a thesis developed at Polifactory as part of the Talents in Residence programme entitled “Terraforma – Material investigation on the possibilities to combine natural growth of mycelium and unfired clay for novel sustainable product design applications”.

During his training, he developed a strong interest in the expressiveness and narrative potential of objects. He believes that a mature design approach, in order to have a positive ethical and social impact, must create a meaningful connection and a deep dialogue between people and artefacts.

Since February 2023, he has been collaborating with Polifactory, where he focuses mainly on research projects related to digital manufacturing, circular transition and the digital transformation of food systems.
