Olive Fly Finder. Sistema di monitoraggio bioacustico della mosca olearia.

This work outcomes from a reflection about sound and technologies that develop around the audio signal recognition. This field of research aims to reproduce the functioning of the human hearing system, specifically the ability to distinguish different sounds into a continuous acoustic flux. Over the years this technology has been applied in many aspects of the daily life, focusing on its potential for voice recognition. The sound universe doesn’t only include sounds produced by man, but also belonging to the geophysical and bio-acoustic world.
Marta’s project focuses precisely on the latter field: the aim is to exploit the sound recognition to control and monitor the presence of a specific species of insects in the agricultural sector, inserting it into the world of precision agriculture.
