Next Design Innovation

Next Design Innovation is an initiative developed by the Lombardy Region in collaboration with the Department of Design of the Politecnico di Milano and coordinated by Polifactory.
The project is designed to promote the preincubation of young talents able to materialize product- service innovative systems that combine design and digital technologies, experimenting with new manufacturing processes.

Through Next Design Innovation, a group of 30 young designers and innovators under 35 have operated in residence at Polifactory through a complete path: design-development-prototyping-exhibition, “From idea to market”. Hence 15 prototypes were born: interactive artifacts that incorporate custom control electronics and sensors made with analog/digital manufacture. Beside the projects from Lombardia, 6 other projects are part of the Next Design Innovation; these were developed by Catalan designers graduated at the ELISAVA of Barcelona and financially supported by theGeneralitat de Catalunya. The projects were presented at the Next Design Innovation exhibit from 12th to 17th April, 2016 at Spazio DoUtDesign (Via San Vittore, 49 Milan), during the Fuorisalone event.
